Asiacell subscribers top six million (Iraq)

Iraqi cellco Asiacell has announced that its subscriber base has exceeded six million, according to ArabianBusiness.  Asiacell claimed 5.56 million subscribers at the end of September 2008, representing a 7.8% increase in the three-month period. Asiacell is the second largest cellco in the country with around 34% market share in terms of subscribers, while its main rival Zain Iraq boasts 52%. Asiacell claims it is the only wireless network operator to provide coverage of the whole country.
